"The Ride of her life": On Horseback - California Bound
Sometimes the greatest thing we find in a long journey is ourselves. We welcomed Elisabeth Letts who has written the grand story of the transcontinental journey of Mesannie Wilkins from Maine to California on horseback, alone, in the mid-1950s. Her book is called "The Ride of Her Life."
A visit with Equestrian Entrepreneur Kaelyn Kennedy
We discussed with Kaelyn Kennedy of TKEQ what it means to be an entrepreneur. Kaelyn started her enterprise when she was 17 years old. Kaelyn’s enterprise specializes in equestrian clothing. Kaelyn is a noteworthy example of a person who took a road less travelled.
Coldcroft Shires on a Fundraising journey
We welcomed Jamie Alcock of Gloucestershire, England to By The Love Of Horses. Jamie will travel 600 miles by horse pulled carriage to raise funds to give to charities. Jamie's brother was tragically involved in a motor vehicle accident while on duty as a police constable. He never recovered and remained in a coma for 14 years before passing. His brother's wife and young son were helped enormously by charity groups. Jamie wants to give back to help others as a way of saying thank you. Jamie wants to help them help others.
